My xbox has just stopped putting out sound. It has done this a time or 2 before, yet now I"m just entirely soundless and that tends to make gaming on it really difficult, and also watching NetFlix and also things prefer that completely usemuch less. I have never watched anything around this, so is my box screwed, is this a known problem or did I just acquire unlucky AGAIN? This is my third 360, if this one is done so am I, and also that would suck a bit, I really enjoyed this console.

Can you test the console on a different TV? I"m not sure if currently it"s linked via an AV receiver? Or directly to your TV? But either way I"d test it on a various TV initially.

If that doesn"t job-related or if you do not have one more TV handy to test it on, simply carry it to your neighborhood game store and also have them test it out. That means it"d be on a various TV and utilizing entirely different cables (usage theres, do not bring/use yours). If it still does not occupational, it have to be somepoint through the consingle itself.

Have you fiddle-donked through the sound settings? Ya understand, establishing it one way then establishing it ago to what you want? I understand I use the VGA cable and the typical RCA cable for sound output. Typically functions fine. You might try making use of the RCA adapter just for the sound output.

The consingle is hooked up by means of HDMI cable to my HDTV via nopoint added in the middle. No settings were readjusted prior to the sound stopped working, yet I have actually checked and tried all settings given that the sounds quit. I"m do not have actually a method to hook it up to one more TV best now, and I don"t have one more HDMI cable to usage best now having provided the added I had amethod. I tried to find this particular day, and can not find, the various other CompHD cable that came with the console, so I haven"t been able to test that yet. No sound is coming to my Turtle Beach headcollection either so I know the sound isn"t making it to my TV at all.

I recognize it isn"t the TV or also the port on the TV. Tbelow have actually been no hardware changes in my entertainment mechanism any time roughly this difficulty.

so you tried out switching to digital stereo and then back to dolby digital already?

sort of sounds favor a possible grounding problem. have you tried switching the Xbox to the an additional HDMI port? that may solve it. my friend had a somewhat comparable difficulty through his brand-new 360 and he googled prefer crazy and inevitably got to a Westinghome forum for his TV wbelow loads of human being had difficulties with their HDMI tools. The solutions were to make sure that the HDMI tool and also TV were on the very same powerspilgrimage to the very same outlet and to switch HDMI ports. Of course, this was a stopgap measure and once the difficulty occurred, they had actually to switch to the an additional HDMI port. At some point, they all sassist they were going to switch to a different model as that certain model was at risk to the problem no issue how many times they switched.

here"s a solution concerned that Westinghouse TV my friend had:

Apparently the HDMI ports deserve to obtain into a state wright here they are unable to negotiate the input signal effectively. The way to "clear" the ports and permit the HDMI signal to be detected is to percreate a "reset" on the unit.

Just revolve the set off using the power switch on the best side of the unit. Then, press and also HOLD the power button for at leastern 10 seconds, then release.

The collection need to revolve on and also essentially do a "reboot" wbelow it screens the Westinghouse logo. After that your HDMI ports have to be functional aget.
