One of the backup records could not be produced.Details: The request can not be percreated because of an I/O gadget error.Error code: 0x8078002AI searched almost everywhere the internet and found these two connected discussions (conversation 1 and discussion 2). Here is the official answer from Seagate assistance. Hopetotally this sheds some light. One word of caution. There are assorted online complaints around DiscWizard and also my suffer with it hasn"t been exceptionally excellent either (eg. backup hregarding be on a whole drive/partition, rather of some folder; the included DriveCleanser does not actually perform anything).

Thank you for contacting Seagate Support. I am sorry for any kind of inconvenience but Windows Backup does not assistance 4K sectors. All hard drives currently use 4K sectors. You will certainly have to use an older version outside hard drive or a various picture backup routine. Seagate has a program from Acronis called DiscWizard that works on 4K sector tough drives.

I simply ran into the same difficulty with a WD drive... so here"s an overview for everyone else who googles this page:

The "root cause" is that Windows 7 (and its device tools) does not support a 4K aboriginal block dimension. As a workroughly the disk deserve to be formatted via "Advanced Format"/512E to usage 512K blocks. KB article 2510009 defines the existing support plan and also exactly how to check your disk.

After formatting with Windows" Disk Management tool I finished up through a 4K disk layout which did not occupational for Windows Back-up. -- Using the WD Fast Formatter I might reformat the disk to a 512E layout and it functions now. Other vendors need to administer comparable devices.
