Vmware setup is starting windows

I uploaded a known-excellent Win7 ISO (that functions fine through VirtualBox and also genuine hardware) to Proxmox, and configured VM complying with the recommfinished best practices.

You watching: Vmware setup is starting windows

When the VM is began, Windows mirrors the gray text mode development bar saying "Windows is loading papers ...", then switches to "Starting Windows" and continues to be there for hours.

Tright here is no visible action, no colored Windows logo, no computer animation, no disk I/O, no CPU load, no log output. No means to continue.

XP Home installed without any type of difficulties in a VM.

Host is Intel Core i5, VT enabled, 32 GByte RAM, 8 TByte SATA disks.

How execute I obtain Win7 to proceed its setup process on Proxmox 4.2?

It"s a (known) bug.

Workaround: Change the display from "default" to "cirrus". You can uncover this establishing under hardware > display.

Or, if you are developing the VM on the command also line using virt-install, just add --video cirrus. For example:

sucarry out virt-install --virt-type=kvm --name windows7 --ram 2048 --vcpus=2 --os-variant=win7 --virt-type=kvm --hvm --cdrom=/var/lib/libvirt/boot/windows7.iso --network=bridge=virbr0,model=virtio --graphics vnc --disk path=/var/lib/libvirt/images/windows7.qcow2,size=256,sparse=yes,bus=virtio,format=qcow2 --video cirrus

On the final component (5/5) of the "Create a brand-new digital machine" wizard, click the "Customise configuration prior to install" checkbox and proceed, then you will acquire some even more choices. Choose the "Video QXL" alternative and also use the Model dropdvery own to select "Cirrus" and that will perform the trick.
