The remote computer requires that authentication be enabled to connect

I try to affix through RDP from a Windows Server 2008 R2 to an additional 2008 R2 Server.I always get the error message.

You watching: The remote computer requires that authentication be enabled to connect

The connection cannot proceed because authentication is not allowed and the remote computer calls for than authentication be enabled to attach. On the tarobtain machine the Remote Settings are collection to:Allow connections from computers running any kind of variation of Remote Deskpeak.Firewall is disabled on both servers.

Therefor I perform not understand also why I obtain an error message, that authentication is compelled. The tarobtain box is a practically fresh syspreped machine with all present Hotfixes mounted.

I already found a lot of world having that problem by making use of XP (old RDP client), yet no one appears to have actually this difficulty when connecting from 2008 R2 to 2008 R2.

Thank you exceptionally a lot in breakthrough for eextremely hint.

Hello,

I addressed the problem. There was a certificate under Remote DesktopCertificates that was issued to the old computer system name (the name prior to sysprep).

After correcting this I had the ability to remote attach.

Thank you everyone for support.

Hi Matthias,

First I would certainly favor to confirm if you have deployed RDS (Remote Deskheight Services) and also you obtained the error, if so,pleasecheck this option

TS Configuration, >> RDP-Tcp Properties >> change the Security Layer to "Negotiate"Then Recycle the TS Gatemethod business.

If this problem has nopoint to carry out with RDS, and also I expect you supplied the cmd "mstsc" to remote access. This concern might additionally occur because of the variation of mstsc, please make certain it has been upgraded to the new version.

In addition, Did you have one more more recent server obtainable like Server 2012? So we deserve to test and attempt to use Server 2012 to remote accessibility Server 2008 R2, and inspect if the issue persists.

If tbelow is anypoint else about this worry, please feel cost-free to write-up earlier.

Hello Anna,

We additionally encountered this problem while utilizing RDS ActiveX control to attach to Windows 10 desktop computer since the default collection of Security Layer was adjusted to "2" for Windows 10, not "Negotiate" any type of even more. Do we have any kind of strategy to have our product still have the ability to affix to Windows 10 properly even once Security Layer is "2"? Because mstsc.exe can affix to Windows 10 correctly event once Security Layer is collection to "2".

Thanks,
