your mac thinks the headphones are linked. attempt plugging in your headphones, then unplugging them (try this a pair of times).

Tbelow is a hardware trouble with some Mac Minis. Or did you readjust something inside the machine? The cable that connects the hardware to the socket is rather flimsy and easy to rerelocate by mistake once opening the machine.

I"m guessing this is a pre-retina MacBook Pro. The headphone jack is stuck in "optical" mode unmuch less you plug in headphones. There is not much you deserve to execute for this for a long-term fix. (we can be MUCH more advantageous if you list your specs)

"In typical Apple "hardware over-achiever" fashion" Apple tried to make your "humble headphone jack" serve double-duty as an optical port instead of simply adding another hole to the case. Although my Mac in question ultimately offered up the ghold, I had actually incredibly considerable troubles through it, having actually to intensely insert and also remove the plug in order to "un-stick" it. Extremely annoying. Now, I own a modern-vintage Macbook Pro whose headphone jack does not work at all! (Fortunately, I attach headphones and such making use of an outside box, and I cordially invite you to perform the exact same.)

It was a usemuch less feature anymethod, tbelow weren"t really any excellent audio interencounters for it and they had actually a fairly high faitempt price, I would see it all of the time at the Genius Bar.

hey, I perform usage a interface and so on and also deserve to still use the headphones from the Mac for sound so all great on that front. I fairly prefer to usage the Mac speakers when im editing sometimes as I uncover the frequencies they put out excellent for spotting misabsorbs takes and also additionally for hearing slight out of tune parts in vocals etc.... yet yeah it is quite annoying. many thanks for the help
