GIMP Version: 2.6.11Operating System: Mac OSOS Version: 10.6.8GIMP Experience: Beginner LevelI have been developing new layers using the drop down food selection above the image home window. My problem is that I deserve to not watch the layers in the Layers, Channels,... Panel. Thus I have the right to not navigate or rearrange the layers. The "Open the layers dialog" is selected. The "Create brand-new layer" switch is gray and does not job-related. See the attachment. Please, assist me out right here. I am brand brand-new via GIMP and prefer it however this trouble is threatening my expedition of the photo editing human being.

Your Layers Dialog shows up to be configured for hands-on selection of the linked photo. This suggests that you need to pick the photo (whose layers you wish to see displayed) from the drop-dvery own box beside the "Auto" button.Generally, GIMP will automatically update a Layer Dialog when you switch in between different imperiods -- and also this behavior have the right to be stated from the context food selection in the upper-right (the triangle-in-a-box button) or by clicking on the Auto switch just listed below it. But occasionally you will certainly desire to have multiple images open up through each picture having a devoted Layers Dialog which always mirrors the layers in the specific image.
