Firefox failed to read configuration file

I"m trying to setup the mozilla.cfg so regarding universally manage proxy settings on a Citrix server.FF created mozilla.txt:LockPref("netoccupational.proxy.http", "proxy"); LockPref("network-related.proxy.http_port", "8080");LockPref("netjob-related.proxy.no_proxies_on", "localhold,,");I went to ... yteshf.cgi and did the byte change.I put the recently created mozilla.cfg into c:Program FilesMozilla Firefox.I included a line at the finish of the all.js:pref("general.config.filename", "mozilla.cfg");Then once I try to run FF, I get:"Failed to read the configuration file. Contact your system administrator".Is my syntaxation and also file places correct? From what I"ve review, the mozilla.cfg need to be in the same dir as firefox.exe, which it is.

I"ve freshly been playing roughly through locked preferences. Your file location is correct. As for syntax, attempt lockPref (lowersituation L). If this does not occupational, you have the right to try encasing your lines within a try-capture block. In all.js, also collection general.config.obscure_value to 0 so you do not need to encode mozilla.cfg. You have the right to adjust it back to 13 as soon as you are done troubleshooting. Firefox must display screen an error message as to why it can not review the file. The website writer mentions this in his web page about just how to encode the configuration file ( ... ocked.html). You deserve to check out an instance once you downfill his sample mozilla.cfg.txt file.

Please note my extended posting on this problem. I have to imply the following:1) that the encoding must be correct in that some of the settings are in fact currently locked despite the error message2) When you execute gain an extensive error message (and also I posted it to this forum) it might be comprehensible to somone provided to controlling mozilla internals, however it doers not clearly point you in an direction other than an worry through prefcalls.js3) The details of the error have actually been posted now for some time and no one has suggested i) that they acknowledge a bug; ii) an explanation of why the error message is gaining thrvery own, iii) or a solve. My guess is at this suggest that it have to be a bug, so someone will certainly have supposedly need to post it as a bug report inasa lot as pointing out it right here is not the exact same point, right?net-buoy

while this write-up is old, I figured I"d sell the solution that I provided for civilization finding this through search:make certain that the mozilla.cfg permissions encompass review & excecute and check out for the user group of your choosing. (I provided Users of the machine though everyone works too.)
