Failed to parse wizard information

I simply developed an MFC dialog application. Then I opened the .rc file in notepad and saved the file after altering the encoding to UTF-8. This resulted in a "Fairesulted in parse the resource file" exemption upon invoking Class Wizard.

You watching: Failed to parse wizard information

After saving the file again with Unicode encoding Class Wizard was invoked successfully.

Have you changed the encoding of your .rc file?

Check the areas you had edited manually looks favor accidentally you had actually included some distinct character etc at the place. Or just take the copy of reresource after alteration and also prior to change and perform a comparison you have the right to use past compare and so on.

However, if something prefer that was hapenning, then the .rc file would not compile!! But it does! Am I correct in this conclusion? Could the .rc file be "corrupt" and still compile?

So we are earlier at step #1...

I deleted all .res papers to no avail... Any other I need to delete?

The class wizard still complains it cannot parse the .rc file -- yet the file is compiled correctly.

I indicate the culprit is in Visual Studio 2017 ... bereason it does not make feeling...

It is curiously interesting that a Google search on "Failed to parse the resource file" turned up an practically identical write-up 2 years earlier by you athttps://classiccomputers.info/Forums/en-US/d850cbfa-2d14-4b55-ab1d-117cb0f86826/when-opening-class-wizard-in-an-mfc-app-i-am-getting-failed-to-parse-the-resource-file?forum=vcgeneral

So both VS2015 and VS2017 have actually troubles via MFC"s Class Wizard and also reresource files that just one other person seems to have experienced?

Any similarities for you in between the 2 situations?

Are you manually editing and enhancing the .rc files and also the reresource.h file?

Maybe somepoint in your certain environment? An expansion being used"

I simply developed an MFC dialog application. Then I opened up the .rc file in notepad and conserved the file after transforming the encoding to UTF-8. This caused a "Faibrought about parse the resource file" exemption upon invoking Class Wizard.
