Connect xbox one to receiver

So I just bought a new AV Receiver through 4 HDMI in, 1 out. I have a PS3, Directv Genie, a Wii, and also of course, an Xbox One. My questions are what would certainly be the finest way to hook this all up? Should I plug the PS3, Directv, and wii into the receiver, then output to the Xbox One, then to the TV? And then run an optical audio cable from the Xbox One earlier to the receiver for the Xbox One's sound? Would the Xbox One be able to check out the Directv signal for the OneGuide attribute (if that's just how it works)? Would it end up doubling the sound given that i'd be going ago to the receiver through the optical cable? Or have to I run the Directv Genie right into the Xbox One, then to the receiver, then to the television? Would that degrade any kind of audio or video signals or create a noticeable lag?

Any assist would be appreciated. Thanks!

Plug your One, PS3 and also Wii straight right into the receiver. The DirecTV genie deserve to either go in the One or the receiver. If you pick receiver you'll provide up TV snapping and also the oneoverview yet have much better PQ (supposedly, this is just what I've read. I don't have actually anypoint plugged right into the One) and surround sound (although you have the right to enable a beta choice for this if you choose to plug into the One). Lag won't matter for the DirecTV box bereason it's not really a time sensitive thing. You're only talking milliseconds.

The only thing I would certainly problem around through your setup would certainly be input lag for the PS3. The Wii doesn't have HDMI does it? I don't think that would certainly work regardless. Also you'll lose some high quality through all that passwith.

Yeah, I don't desire double pass through for the PS3. Plus it would certainly more than likely kill the 3D use of the PS3. No, Wii doesn't have actually HDMI. I figured I'd just throw it in tright here as among my gadgets.

This is the finest setup

1 ) Plug the XBOX One HDMI-Out right into the AV Reciever

2 ) Plug your DirectTV into the XBOX One HDMI-IN

3 ) Plug your PS3/Wii/Etc into the AV Reciever

4) Plug your AV Reciever before into the TV

Everypoint will certainly advantage from your AV/Reciever before that method. And you can use the TV feature as intfinished. Including Surround Sound (You need to go right into TV Settings -> Troubleshooting -> Check 'Surround Sound BETA' and also voila - sound

Gaming with the TV attribute of the XBOX One offers a subobtimal endure. It's 'neat' to be able to execute yet 'neat' does not intend 'great'. Don't do it, specifically if you just should readjust an input on an AVR

Typically it would be:

DirecTV --> XB1 --> AVR --> TV (assuming you want to usage the TV attributes on the XB1)

PS3 --> AVR --> TV

Wii --> AVR --> TV

The trouble, I think, with your initially setup:

DirecTV+PS3+Wii --> AVR --> XB1 --> TV+loop back to AVR optical

...is that if the AVR input is set to PS3, for example, are you able to likewise assign the optical in from the XB1 to the each of those other inputs...and is the AVR at the same time passing through HDMI audio from each device to the XB1? Elsewise, I think you'll more than likely either have no audio at all, or no audio from the XB1 as soon as trying to use the other gadgets.

What you could carry out, if your intention is to usage the XB1 as the passthrough for these various other gadgets for some reason, though I don't think "xbox record that" works in the TV application, is to use an HDMI switch.

DirecTV+PS3+Wii --> HDMI switch --> XB1 --> AVR --> TV

Yeah, i've concluded the only point that need to pass through the Xbox One is the DirecTV because then I couldn't use the 3D signal on the PS3. It's a small disappointing I can't watch 3D tv channels now though (not that i watched them anyway).

I have looked into the swicth/splitter choice for simple factor or making it straightforward on anyone, prefer my wife or guests, to watch tv without having to number out the xbox one. But I'll pass on it for currently until it reaches some sort of breaking point.

I wouldn't plug the reciever into the xbox bereason the video will certainly go through the xbox however the audio will go out of the speakers associated to the receiver. The reason why that's an issue is there is an extremely slight lag with the xbox's hdmi pass with. I initially put up my xbox prefer that reasoning i can change the input of my reciever to what i want and that means every little thing will certainly go via the xbox but the audio and also video didn't sync appropriately on anything. it was very slight lag however it annoyed the crap out of me. From my suffer plug the direct tv to the xbox and also then it and everything into the reciever and the reciever before to the tv

The way I did mine was the second alternative. I have my directv box plugged right into my xbox one then the one into the receiver then from the receiver to the tv. Seems to work perfect for me, audio sounds great and also I haven't noticed any lag at all.
