The ideal method to troubleshoot backup failures is to look at SQL error log messperiods as Leks suggested.

Adding to what Lekss Mentioned, the error message "Operating System Error 3" some times will certainly not offer an explacountry. Some times it wont give the explanation in those cases, Open command prompt and also form in net helpmsg error_number.
